In a world much like our own, roughly analogous to the early-mid 20th century, the planet faces imminent apocalypse at the hands of its own moon, a satellite no longer content. simply to orbit, now plummeting straight. towards a world destined for cataclysmic lunar embrace. A bitter hope remains however, hope in the form of an old legend detailing a castle of flesh descended from the stars, homed in a barren continent isolated by vast oceans. Its hull of skin and sinew is said to bear a vast ever shifting labyrinth, whose depths hold shards of the moon fallen from ages past. This old legend ends with tell of a ritual using eight of these very shards, a ritual which enforces a masochistic self devouring upon the looming lunar entity.
